Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent deviation in dots during the processing of a picture by a method wherein detecting the arrival of a home position of a carriage with a home position sensor, the excitation phase of a pulse motor is switched over to that specified to turn a rotor of the pulse motor, a position which is set as home position. CONSTITUTION:A phase excitation distributing circuit 3 is composed of an up/ down counter CO1, an AND gate AN1, an NOR gate NR2, an OR gate OR1 and inverters IN1 and IN2. A code is preset for the up/down counter CO1 in such a manner as to be determined by opening or closing of a two switch contact pieces of a semi-fixed switch 17. The counter CO1 is cleared by a home position setting pulse (an output pulse of a circuit 15) and then, the output code of the semi-fixed switch 17 is preset to count up or down phase switching signal pulses 5 from the preset value according to rotational direction indicating signal 6.
