Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable speeding up of a printing hammer by allowing a longer energization time than normal for subsequent one of two successive printings when the time interval therebetween is larger than that predetermined. CONSTITUTION:Continuous printing instructions 31 arrives while a printing hammer 38 is in standby, as there is a very long time interval between the preceding printing instruction, a printing space discrimination circuit 32 transmits a ''0'' signal 33 as the result of the discrmination and an energization time setting circuit 34 sets a little longer time as the energization time for driving the hammer 38 and transmits a signal 35, based on which a driving circuit 36 supplies a driving current to the printing hammer 38 for a little longer time through a connection 37. When the subsequent second printing instruction 31 arrives, an instruction interval discrimination 32 transmits a ''1'' signal 33 because of too short time interval whereby a driving current is supplied to the printing hammer 38 for a little shorter time.
