CONSTITUTION: When metallic paint is used in an electrostatic spray painting device, aluminum powder contained in the metallic paint causes bridging due to the action of electrostatic potential. As a result, insulation is reduced to a dangerous level, and coating work can not be continued by the operation of a high voltage breaker. Now, agitators 28, 29 are located in the middle of each of a paint-supply conduit 21 and a paint- return conduit 26 leading to the paint-supply chamber 14 of a paint flow rate controller 13 for a paint injection head 6, so that the metallic paint is incessantly agitated. Consequently, efficient coating work can be performed with high voltage, while inhibiting the bridging, of the aluminum powder in the paint inside the conduits 21 and 26, which would cause a leakage of electricity. Moreover, the conduits can be shortened, the paint can be easily replaced by new one, and the electrostatic spray painting device can be miniaturized.
