Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a nonrefined high tensile steel plate of small anisotropy in strength or the like by performing cooling by air cooling except high pressure water spraying during descaling in controlled krolling of the steel plate and further specifying the rolling end temp. range.
CONSTITUTION: In the stage of controlling temp. by interrupting hot rolling in controlled rolling of a high tensile steel plate, the steel plate is subjected to cooling by the air cooling alone except high pressure water spraying for the purpose of descaling to avert the formation of ferrite. Further, the rolling end temp. is limited within the temp. range of Ar3 transformation point +50°C or below, Ar3 transformation point -50°C or above. Thereby, the nonrefined high tensile steel plate of small anisotropy satisfying high strength, good toughness and weldability simultaneously is obtained.
