Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform both side image copying quickly and accurately with the images formed in the same position of a rotary drum by controlling prescribed processes according to a both side command signal and the position signal of the rotary drum. CONSTITUTION:The latent image corresponding to the image of the surface A of an original picture is formed on a rotary drum 1 by a light source 6, a mirror 4, and a mirror 5 of a scanning speed 1/2 that of said mirror, after which it is developed and is transferred on transfer paper 17 from a tray 16. When the trailing end of the paper 17 is detected with a photodetector 24, paper discharge rollers 22 revolve reversely and the paper 17 is stacked on a paper feed part 681 for the rear side without discharged. Thence, the light source 6, the mirror 4, and the mirror 5 are moved to the scanning start position on the surface of an original picture B, and the image on the surface B of the original picture is transferred similarly on the paper 17 which is next discharged through the rollers 22. These processes are controlled by a CPU in accordance with the both side command signal and the position signal of the drum 1, whereby the images are formed always in the same position on the drum 1 and the both side image copying is accomplished quickly and accurately.
