Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the contamination of drums by providing a conveying path for averting transfer paper from the specific photosensitive drum and a changeover means of changing over this conveying path from normal conveying path to a transfer paper conveying device which continuously feeds transfer paper to the respective photosensitive drums.

CONSTITUTION: In a copying apparatus provided with plural photosensitive drums for reproducing multicolor images, two photosensitive drums 6, 7 are provided below an original plate 2 in the case of, for example, 2 color copying. A changeover pawl 21 is provided on the tarnsfer paper passage way between the photosensitive drums 6 and 7. The changeover pawl 21 is of wedge form whose end is faced to the photosensitive drum 6 side and is oscillatable as its root end is pivotally fitted. The changeover pawl 21 in a normal state forms the normal transfer paper passage way as its end is apart from the guide plate 22 constituting the transfer paper passage way. In copying ordinary black and white originals, the end of the changeover pawl 21 touches the guide plate 22 to cut off the normal transfer paper passage way and forms another transfer paper passage way communicating to the conveying path 23 being a bypass. The trailing end of the conveying path 23 connects to the normal passage way 24 and communicates to a fixing device 19.
