CONSTITUTION:In a captioned furnace having a plurality of burners 1a-1h at the lower parts of the front and rear walls 3a of a wall 3 forming a furnace 2, the furnace 2 is laterally divided into two segments, and the burners 1a-1h are so directed that the extension line of the center line of the respective burners 1a-1h makes contact with imaginary circles 01, 02 drawn around the center of the right and left segmented furnaces as a center. In this case, the centers of the circles 01, 02 are displaced by DELTAW to the side walls 3b side. In this manner, two vortex flames of different turning directions attract each other, the flames move to the central position of the segmented furnaces, and the radiated heat transfer to the wall 3 of the furnace can be generally equalized.
