PURPOSE: To provide an energy absorbing material which possesses quasi-liquid properties and is in a high-strength rubbery or elastomeric form, consisting of an elastomer contg. a dihalocyclopropane structural unit and formed from a polymer having a specified glass transition point.
CONSTITUTION: An elastomer contg. a dihalocyclopropane structural unit and formed from a polymer having a glass transition point of -20W30°C, is used as an energy absorbing material. As said polymer, there is used a modified rubber, pref., having 43W90% dihalocyclopropane structural unit of formulaI(wherein R is H, methyl, Cl; X is Cl, Br, B, I, H) or 8.0W4.2% dihalocyclopropane structural unit of formula II, still pref., having 20W85% dihalocyclopropane structural unit of formulaIand 20W30% dihalocyclopropane structural unit of formula II.
