Abstract

PURPOSE: To quickly complete vulcanization of a hydrocarbon elastomer and to improve physical properties of the rubber vulcanized, by simultaneous use of triacryloyl-s-hexahydrotriazine and quinonedioxime in the vulcanization of a hydrocarbon elastomer with an org. peroxide.
CONSTITUTION: In the vulcanization of a hydrocarbon elastomer, 0.1W6pts.wt. 1,3,5-triacryloyl-s-hexahydrotriazine and 0.1W10pts.wt. quinonedioxime, each based on 100pts.wt. hydrocarbon elastomer, and an org. perioxide are used. A marked effect is recognized for an ethylene-propylene copolymer and an ethylene- propylene-diene terpolymer. The org. peroxide is pref. dicumyl peroxide, t-butylperoxy isopropyl carbonate, etc.
