PURPOSE:To provide the titled metal mold imparting surface gloss to a plastic molded product by penetrating an acrylic ester type resin into the melt injected skin film of a melt injection metal mold for molding a plastic molded product to form a thin film on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:A release agent is coated to a original shaped model 1 to be assembled in a frame 2 and a metal such as Zn, Al or the like is melt injected into said model to form a melt injected metal layer 3 and a back-up material 4 such as a low m.p. alloy or the like is cast thereon. After the back-up material 4 is cured, the original shaped model 1 is removed and, after the metal mold is finished to a prescribed dimension, an acrylic ester type resin 5 is coated on the surface of the melt injected metal layer 3 and penetrated therein to form a thin film 2 with a thickness of 100mm. or less and subjected to curing treatment by ultraviolet irradiation to obtain the objective metal mold.
