Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve arraying easily on a fitting plate without reference to its material when the fitting plate has a flat surface, by fixing a coating-removed part of the end part of an optical fiber onto the fitting plate with an adhesive tape, and then pressing its tip part with a press plate. CONSTITUTION:The end parts of optical fibers 1 are removed, and the coating- removed parts 2 of the optical fibers are arrayed adjacently on the flat surface of a fitting member 3 by being fixed on the surface of the fitting member with adhesive tapes 5 and 6. Then, the tip parts of the respective coating-removed parts 2 are pressed and adhered from above with a press plate 7 formed by fixing a couple of glass plates 9 to a silicon plate 8. Consequently, optical fibers are arrayed on the surface of the fitting member 3 without reference to its material as far as it has a flat surface.
