Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify structure and to secure operation control by discriminating the conditions of temperature control over a temperature-detected member, the member itself and its circumference by comparing the output of a temperature detecting means with a reference value. CONSTITUTION:A temperature detecting sensor 9 detects the temperature of a photosensitive drum 1 and its output is inputted to a temperature control means 11 to hold the photosensitive drum 1 at set temperature. The output of the sensor 9, on the other hand, is compared with a reference potential 10 which corresponds to the abnormal temperature of the drum 1 by a comparing circuit 12, whose output is sent to an arithmetic circuit 14 operating under the time control of a timer means 13. The time means 13 and arithmetic circuit 14 prevent malfunction to discriminate the abnormal conditions, etc., of the drum 1 itself and its circumference accurately.
