Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable detecting of flames, being approximately 90 deg. different in direction, by a single device, by installing an optical fiber whose one end is open in the direction of a side and an end and to a center angle and which leads rays to a flame. CONSTITUTION:A flame detector body 1 is cylindrical and an optical fiber 2 pierces through the body 1. One end of the fiber 2 is bent at an angle of 45 deg. to the long axis of the body 1, and the fiber 2 has an opening 1a being open to one end of the body 1. The opening 1a enables entering of rays covering a range of an angle theta (about 60-80 deg.) to the center line thereof, one end of the angle theta corresponding to a direction of a side, and the other end corresponds to a direction of an end. The other end of the optical fiber 2 is open facing and opposite to a photoelectric element 3 which converts rays, entering through the optical fiber 2, into an electric signal and outputs it, and is attached to a substrate 4. A case consists of an opaque material and intercepts other light around the photoelectric element 3.
