Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate an oil film break in a bearing and improve its seizure resistance, in a bearing surface, supporting a rotary shaft, circumferentially formed with successive tapered surfaces and land surfaces, by providing oil grooves to root parts of each tapered surface and diagonally forming said oil grooves to a prescribed direction. CONSTITUTION:A tapered land bearing 1 consists of an annularly formed flat plate, and tapered surfaces 2 and land surfaces 3 are successively formed circumferentially to its bearing surface, further oil grooves 4, communicated from an internal peripheral side to external peripheral side respectively, are provided in root parts of the tapered surface 2. In this case, the oil groove 4 is formed in such a manner that its peripheral side is located in the forward side of rotational direction of a rotary shaft. That is, the oil groove 4 is formed in such a manner that a prescribed angle alpha of slope is provided toward front of the rotational direction of the rotary shaft with respect to the radial line passing through an internal peripheral side 6 of the oil groove. In this way, lubricating oil, guided to the tapered surface 2, reaches also the peripheral side of the land surface 3 by centrifugal force, and an oil film in the peripheral side of the land surface 3 can be prevented from a break.
