Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a high-vibrationproof rubber compsn. having excellent flex- crack resistance, vibration-absorbing characteristics, compression set, etc., by blending a chloromethylstyrene-styrene-butadiene terpolymer with natural rubber or polyisoprene rubber-contg. diene rubber. CONSTITUTION:5-50pts.wt. Chloromethylstyrene-styrene-butadiene terpolymer having an intrinsic viscosity eta (in toluene at 30 deg.C) of 0.1-1,3dl/g and a chloromethylstyrene content of 2-10wt%, is blended with 100pts.wt. natural rubber and/ or polyisoprene rubber, or a mixture composed of not less than 40wt% natural rubber and/or polyisoprene rubber and the balance of a diene rubber such as polybutadiene rubber. The resulting compsn. is superior in damping characteristic, flex- crack resistance and compression set to conventional liquid rubber or high arom. extender oil compsn. The compsn. is useful as vibrationproof rubber used to prevent vibration or noise of automobiles and industrial equipments.
