Abstract
PURPOSE: To convert toluene or xylene in high efficiency, as the catalyst for oxidative dehydrogenation dimerization, by containing a metal oxide activated with zirconium oxide in a specific constitutional ratio.
CONSTITUTION: As the catalyts for oxidative dehydrogenation dimerization of toluene or xylene, one which is a metal oxide such as lead oxide or thallium oxide activated with zirconium oxide and of which the constitutional ratio has the relation of a formula MaZrbOc (wherein M is Pb, Tl or Bi, a is 0.2W4, b is 1, c is a number for satisfying the average valency of M and Zr in an oxidized condition in said constitution) is used. This catalyst enhances conversion efficiency of toluene or xylene.
