Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the separation membrane module with good gas-tightness by preparing a bundling mount plate of the membrane module according to a bundling mount method necessitating no use of an adhesive.
CONSTITUTION: Porous glass fine tubes 1 are bundled around a core material 7 and the end parts thereof are bonded under pressure by an upper mold 5A, a lower mold 5B and side molds 6A, 6B to form the bundling mount plate of the separation membrane module. Because the porous glass fine tubes 1 are rapidly heated to a high temp. lower than the softening point thereof prior to pressure bonding thereof, surfaces thereof are mutually stuck to form the opening end surface having a honeycomb like grid. In order to stick the end parts of the fine tubes, said end parts are further bonded under pressure to collapse the hollow parts thereof or an inorg. adhesive is filled in the hollow parts thereof. Because integral bundling mount is carried out by sticking or fusion bonding, it is unnecessary to consider the coefficient of thermal expansion of the adhesive and the bundling mount plate with extremely good gas-tightness is obtained.
