Abstract

PURPOSE:To readily manufacture the integrally formed core by mating the perpendicularly split pattern boxes for vacuum core making, putting a thermoplastic bag-form film therein, heating the same to soften then reducing pressure to suck and affix the same to the inside surface of the patterns, filling sand or the like and reducing pressure to harden these. CONSTITUTION:Perpendicularly split pattern boxes 1, 1 having pattern surfaces 3 and top opening faces 4 are mated at the joint surface 2. A bag-form film 10 made of synthetic resin is suspended in the hollow part 8 formed by the pattern faces 3 by being mounted with the annular fixing member 9 mounted to the opening faces 4. A hot air pipe 11 is lowered into the film and hot air is blown therethrough to heat the film 10 to soften. The connecting pipe 5 of the pattern box is connected to a vacuum unit to make a vacuum in the hollow chamber 6. The inside of the pattern hollow part 8 is also vacuumed by the multiple fine pores 7 provided to the patterns. The softened film 10 is contacted to the pattern surfaces 3 by reduced pressure and hardens. The hot air pipe 11 is taken out and sand, etc. are filled through the opening part 10', after which the opening part 10' is hermetically sealed, thence these are hardened under reduced pressure. Finally, the pattern box 1 is separated, and the integrally formed vacuum core enclosed by the film 10 is taken out from the inside.
