Abstract

PURPOSE:To make stable welding high in thermal efficiency preventing buckling of joined members by supplying wires between butting faces to be welded, heating by applying electric current and pressing from both sides. CONSTITUTION:Plural, for instance two, metallic wires 3, 3 are supplied between butting faces of members 1, 1 to be welded and supported by electrodes 4, 5. When current is applied while pressing the wires 3, 3 between the electrodes 4, 5, the wires 3, 3 are deformed generating heat. Generated heat is transmitted to the members 1, 1 to be welded. Current is cut off when the distance between the electrodes becomes as narrow as the thickness of the plate with deformation of the wires 3, 3. The member 1 is moved foreward by shifting a clamping jig 2, and pressing force is given to the joining part. Members 1, 1 to be joined are joined utilizing joining force acting between high temperature pressurized metals.
