CONSTITUTION:Molten metal is ejected and supplied continuouly through a nozzle slit 7 onto a coolng roll 8 which moves at a high speed, whereby it is quickly cooled and solidified, and an amorphous metallic strip is produced. The nozzle 6 is so disposed as to face the horizontal side of the surface of the roll 8, and the direction of the flow of the molten metal to be ejected therethrough is set in an approximately horizontal direction. Further, an air vent 10 for releasing air in the system at the start of production to an air reservoir tank upward or to the outside is provided at the closing part to the nozzle 6 of a connecting pipe 4 connecting the nozzle 6 with a vessel 1 containing molten metal. Hence, the foaming the molten metal in the air accumulating part is prevented and the shape of the strip is made uniform.
