Abstract
PURPOSE:To permit easy rapping even in the case of an intricate pattern shape by freezing and hardening the molding sand contg. water, a binder, etc. in the space delineated by a molding flask and a pattern plate cooled by a refrigerate then rapping the mold. CONSTITUTION:Liquid nitrogen is injected through nozzles 5 to the bottom surface of a pattern plate 1 to cool the plate 1 down to prescribed temp., after which it is moved upward by the operation of a cylinder, wereby it is registered to a molding flask 2. At the same time, these are moved upward in one body to bring the top surface of the flask 2 into press contact with the bottom surface of an auxiliary flask 9, so that a hermetic space is formed in the flask 2 with the plate 1 and a blow plate 8. The molding sand in a blow head 6 is packed through blow holes 7 into this space by supplying compressed air to said head. At the same time, the plate 1 is moved upward to press the sand 3 to the bottom surface of the plate 8 and to squeeze, after which the flask 2 is lowered together with the plate 1 and this state is maintained for a prescribed time to allow the sand 3 on the surface of the plate 1 to freeze and harden.
