Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the productivity of a refrigerating mold by molding the molding sand containing moisture in a molding flask, leading a cooling medium into the molding flask and freezing and setting the same in a state of local cooling. CONSTITUTION:Molding sand 4 containing moisture is molded to a specified shape in a molding flask 1 for casting. During the progression of this molding or upon completion of the same, a cooling medium such as liquid nitrogen is led to cooling medium supply means 2 constituted by straight pipes 2a and ring pipes 2b and is blown into the molding sand 4 through the blow-out port. Thereby, the molding sand 4 is frozen at an early time from the outside surface side to the inside surface side and is set in the specified mold shape. With this method, the cooling efficiency of the cooling medium becomes high and it becomes possible to economically produce the refrigerating mold by the integral work continuous to the molding process without moving the mold.
