Abstract
PURPOSE:To substantially make zero point adjustment unnecessary, by storing a residual Hall output when a magnetic field is zero, and operating and outputting a difference between said output and a Hall element output in case when a magnetic field by a current to be measured has been applied. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 6 is depressed by setting a current to be measured to zero, that is, by setting a magnetic field B generated by the current to be measured to a zero state, residual potential V0 is stored in a central operation processor 5. Subsequently, when the current to be measured is made to flow, the magnetic field B being proportional to the current to be measured is applied to a Hall element 1, and Hall output voltage VH being proportional to this magnetic field B is sent as a digital value to the central operation processor 5. Subsequently, in the processor 5, a difference between both the voltage is operated, and a result of operation is converted to a value of the current to be measured and is displayed on an indicator 8. In this way, even in case when an ambient temperature is varied quickly, and even if the direction of the current to be measured is varied, a temperature drift is corrected and a current can be measured exactly.
