Abstract

PURPOSE: To adsorb noble metallic complex, such as Au, Ag, of high purity with a high recovery rate from waste liquid of Au, Ag plating by using a substance of aluminium silicate group obtained by reaction under a specified condition of an Al compound and a specified Si compound as an adsorbent.
CONSTITUTION: An Al compound such as Al2O3 and gel-like or sol-like SiO2 or water glass are allowed to react at a proportion of 90:10W20:80 and under a strongly acidic condition of 1.0W3.0pH. This is then neutralized to 5.0W6.0pH with a basic substance. By this adjustment, an adsorbent of ≥40% PO4 -3 removing rate and ≥50% methylene blue removing rate is obtained. Au, Ag complexes in waste liquid of Au, Ag plating or developing are adsorbed by using this adsorbent of aluminium silicate group. The adsorbent that adsorbed valuable metals is treated chemically or optically to isolate the simple subtance or sulfide etc. of the valuable metals.
