Abstract

PURPOSE:To exercise fine control over the position of a lens barrel by bringing the lens barrel in contact with a barrel-like frame successively with an elastic body in its axial direction and with a flexible holding tool in a plane perpendicular to the axis, providing a permanent magnet and an air core coil, and then controlling a current. CONSTITUTION:A lens barrel comes into successive contact with a cylindrical internal frame body 12 through elastic suspending plates 18 and 20 at the upper and lower end parts of a cylindrical external frame body 10, and is displaced in the axial direction. The cylindrical internal frame body 12 comes into successive contact with the flange of the lens barrel 16 through a flexible holding tool 22, and is displaced in two dimensions in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the lens barrel. At the upper part of the external frame body 10, a permanent magnet 40 is held by parts 36 and 38, and in a gap G2, a coil 44 is provided. At the lower part of the internal frame body 12, a permanent magnet 26 is held by parts 24a and 24b, and in a gap G1 formed by a return member 28, coils 32a and 32b and unshown coils 34a and 24b are provided at right angles. The current of each coil is controlled to exercise fine control over the position of the lens barrel in three dimensions, which is suitable for the optical readout of a video disk.
