Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a surface-embossed decorative material which is inexpensive and has three-dimensional feelings by a method wherein the pattern parts to be recessed are roughened so as to produce an air presence part between the roughened part and a resin layer which is hindered form curing by air. CONSTITUTION:By using an ink containing an inorgaic filler such as calcium carbonate, the roughened part 3 corresponding to a pattern is formed on the surface of a polyvinyl chloride film base 1. A smooth part 2 is formed by using an ordinary ink. A radical polymerization type resin 4 such as an unsaturated polyester resin which is hindered from curing by air is coated on the parts 2, 3, followed by laminating an air-shielding film 5 thereon. In this case, air is permitted to remain between the resin layer 4 on the roughened part 3 and the film 5 but prevented from entering between the resin layer 4 on the smooth part 2 and the film 5. After the lamination, the assembly is heated to cure the resin, resulting in that the resin making contact with the roughened parts 3 is not cured and forms recesses.
