CONSTITUTION:A zero detecting circuit detects whether all syndromes S1 are zero or not. Another zero detecting circuit 19 detects whether T<i-7>S2 obtained from a generated matrix T of a corrected word Q and a syndrome S2 is zero or not. The other zero detecting circuit 20 detects a syndrome Si=O. A controlling circuit 21 controlls wrong locations. Therefore, by detecting the output of an adding circuit 10 at the zero detecting circuit 20, the locations of wrong words can be found and corrected.
