Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for setting threshold at every time, by using a balanced type pulse code, by cutting the DC component of a received signal at a receiving side circuit, and by setting the threshold of a comparator to 0 volt. CONSTITUTION:A capacitor 8 for cutting DC is inserted between an amplifier 5 and a comparator 6. The threshold of the comparator 6 is grounded and set to 0V. A balanced type pulse code is used as a transmitting code in optical transmission. When such arrangement is made, a receiving waveform varies around 0V, because the waveform is subjected to the DC cut, and thus, the pulse can be discriminated without adjustment regardless of variations in the level of the receiving electric power.
