Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance a printing speed by a method wherein a printer head is provided with a plurality of printing nozzles so as to attain a plurality of printing bits at the same time. CONSTITUTION:One head is provided with a plurality of nozzles and a picture to be printed is divided into fragments in the same number as that of the nozzles, so that plural printing spots are generated simultaneously with the respective nozzles thereby to provide printing with plural bits. For example, when a nozzle A prints 11, 43 is printed by another nozzle B at the same time. Then, when the nozzle A prints 21, there is no character to be printed at a position corresponding to 53 of the nozzle B and hence ink droplets fall into a gutter. Next, the nozzle A prints 31, while the nozzle B has no character to be printed. Thereafter, when the head moves by one bit in the row direction, there is no character at both a position corresponding to 12 of the nozzle A and a position corresponding to 44 of the nozzle B, so that ink jetting from both nozzles fall into the gutter. Assuming that the number of nozzles is n, a printing time can be reduced to 1/n.
