Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a scorching operation efficiently by hanging an abrasive member with an elastic member and by pressing the upper part of the abrasive member with the tip of rod and thereby performing an abrasive work through automatic and forced revolution. CONSTITUTION:A vertical rotary shaft 2 is supported to a base plate 1 through a bearing 7 in such a way the vertical shaft 2 may rotate freely. The shaft 2 is provided with a pulley 8 and rotated by a belt 9. The lower part of the shaft 2 is provided with a hollow cylinder. A coil spring 13 and a rod 14 are inserted into the hollow member. An arm 15 is horizontally fastened to a shaft 14. At the end of the arm 15 hung spring coils 17 in three ways. An abrasive member 18 is grasped at the tip of the coil springs 17. The abrasive member 18 is placed under an abrasive dish 19 provided with a lap member 20. The lap member 20 presses the abrasive member 18 to the surface of a lense to be polished. The base plate 1 rotates and the abrasive member 18 polishes the surface of the lense while automatically rotating.
