Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize a high-speed processing of the feature extraction, the integration of a device and a low price respectively, by extracting the features of an input graphic pattern by piling the bit array patterns to the cell array for each row or column and with every input. CONSTITUTION:The cells CE0-CEn having exactly same structure extract the features of an input graphic pattern by piling the bit array patterns onto the array of the said cells for each row or column and with every input. Plural units of these cells are used to be distributed in a 1-dimensional way to the row or column. Thus the extraction of features is carried out at a time for the shape and position of the character graphic contour line for an input pattern for each row or column. Furthermore, the cells CE0-CEn are distributed in 2-dimentional way in terms of the row and column to increase the speed for extraction of features. Then the integration is facilitated by unifying the structures of the cells E0-En.
