Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve a wide dynamic range without being affected by a noise background light other than a signal light, by comparing an external noise light level and a signal light level and controlling the threshold value of an identifying reproducing device. CONSTITUTION:A light passing through an optical filter 11 in a short wave length cut interrupting a signal light wave length is made photoelectric conversion and amplified, and an external light level is measured with a peak detector 18 consisting of a low pass filter. On the other hand, a light passing through an optical filter 21 in a short wave length cut interrupting shorter wave length than the signal light wave length is also made photo electric conversion and amplified with an APD22 as photo detecting element, and after amplification at a preamplifier 23 and a main amplifier 24, it is applied to a peak detector consisting of a low pass filter through an equalizer 25 to obtain an output level. Said output level is compared with the external light level at a comparator 29 to exercise control for optimum threshold value.
