Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a copper alloy for electricity conduction whose softening temperature is significantly lowered, by hot rolling a copper alloy rod containing Zr and Cr into a rough rolled wire, and cooling it under conditions wherein it is kept for a prescribed period at a temperature in the prescribed range.
CONSTITUTION: A copper alloy rod containing Zr (for example 0.2%) and Cr (for example 0.2%) is hot rolled into a rough rolled wire. Then the rough rolled wire is cooled, for examle, in a N2-containing gas atmosphere. In this cooling process, when the rough rolled wire is retained at 500W650°C for about 1hr, the softening temperature of the copper alloy for conducting electricity containing Zr and Cr can be significantly lowered. Consequently, as the annealing temperature of said copper alloy can be lowered, the production efficiency can be increased, and the energy can be saved.
