Abstract
PURPOSE:To fix the threshold voltage for a Schmitt circuit using an MOS transistor, by lowering forcibly the voltage at the transistor joint while the input voltage varies from zero volt through the threshold voltage. CONSTITUTION:The MOS transistor TR2 and TR3 are turned off when the input voltage VIN is at zero volt, and voltages V1 and V2 are increased by TR1 and TR4 to be set at VDD-Vt1 and VDD-Vt1-Vt4 (Vtn: threshold voltage of TRn). Thus a TR7 is turned on and the voltage V1 becomes equal to the voltage V3, and the current flows constantly through Trs 1, 6 and 7 to avoid the floating state of the voltage V1 as well as to prevent the effect of the noise or leakage. When the input voltage VIN reaches Vt3 from zero, the current flows to TRs 3 and 4. Thus the voltage V2 drops and the voltage V1 is fixed. With further increase of the voltage VIN, the TR2 is turned on to set the V1 and V2 at a level close to the earth potential.
