Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an endless magnetic tape recording medium superior in running stability, by providing a lubricant layer including fine powder of a fluororesin and an aliphatic compound on the rear side of a base material. CONSTITUTION:A lubricant layer where an aliphatic compound such as higher fatty alcohol, higher fatty acid ester, higher fatty aicd, higher aliphatic amide, or higher aliphatic amine having the surface activity and the lubricating function and fine powder of a fluororesin having lubricity such as resin of tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene, and trichlorofluoroethylene and dispersed in a binder such as a rubber-like resin, is provided on the opposite face of a base material which has a magnetic layer on one face.
