Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent air in a hollow material from being expanded by welding to prevent welding defects, by providing a small hole in the center of a yoke and opening the small hole to the external by a groove provided in a yoke supporting tool when the hollow material and the yoke are welded. CONSTITUTION:Yokes 2 are connected to boss parts 3 at both ends of a hollow steel pipe 1 and are welded by torches 7. In this case, a perfectly round air hole 4 is provided in the center of one yoke 2, and two link grooves 6 along the bus are formed on one pressurizing center 5 out of pressurizing centers 5 and 5A, which support yokes 2, with the tip of the pressuring center 5 left as it is. The tip part of the pressuring center 5 with grooves is pressed into the air hole 4 of the yoke 2, and the other pressurizing center 5A is pressed to the center of one yoke 2, and yokes 2 and boss parts 3 are welded while rotating them slowly. Since air in the hollow steel pipe 1 is connected to the external through the air hole 4 and link grooves 6, the pressure in the hollow steel pipe 1 is not increased, and they are welded well. After the welding, the air hole 4 of the yoke 2 is closed.
