Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an optical radiator which is capable of radiating an incident light beam equally and efficiently, easily and at a low cost, by storing a transparent member having a spiral surface of a shape obtained by twisting a plastic plate-like member centering around its long axis by prescribed number of times, in a cylindrical transparent vessel. CONSTITUTION:A transparent or semitransparent member 2 having a spiral surface 2' of a shape obtained by twisting a plastic plate member 2 centering around its long axis by prescribed number of times is stored in a transparent or semitransparent cylindrical sealed vessel 3. A light beam transmitted through an optical conductor cable 1 is reflected by the spiral surface 2', and is radiated in the radial direction of the cylindrical vessel 3. In this way, an optical radiator which is capable of radiating an incident light beam equally and efficiently is obtained easily and at a low cost.
