Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the best use of the property of solid fuel and contrive to improve the safety and thermal efficiency of the fuel by a method wherein solid fuel body is detachably set in a combustion chamber inwardly formed at the bottom of a hot water tank. CONSTITUTION:The combustion chamber 4, the lower surfce of which is open, is provided inwardly at the bottom of the hot water tank 1, at the lowr part of which a feed water pipe 2 is connected and the upper part of which a hot water supply pipe 3 is connected. An exhaust tube 5 having heat-exchanging part 5'-5''' is connected to the upper part of the combustion chamber 4, on the side wall at the lowr part of which an air inlet 4' is provided. The quantity of air to be supplied to the combustion chamber through the air inlet 4' is controlled when a valve 26 interlocking with a thermal detector 23. A setting table 9, on the upper surface of which a retainer 9 and a combustion chamber 11 are arranged so as to set the solid fuel body 7 such as briquet or the like on the retainer and in the combustion chamber 11. The setting table 9 is supported with a supporing rod 14, at the lower end of which parallel links 19 and 19' are journaled. The other end of the like 19 is fixed to the side surface of a pinion 18 and the other end of the link 19' is fixed to a supporting casing 15. The setting table 9 is rendered to ascend or descend by pivoting the pinion 18 by means of a rack 17.
