Abstract

PURPOSE:To carry out smoothly and simply reduction of dissolved oxygen in the sample water and optimization of the calibration of an dissolved oxygen analyser by supplying a specimen of deaired water to the analyser under the pressure of an inert gas and the head of the deaired water sample. CONSTITUTION:A sample water inlet pipe 26 and a sample water outlet pipe 28 are connected to a deairing tank 30 with communication between them through an inlet valve 22 and an outlet valve 24 from respectively the upstream side and the downstream side of a main valve 12 that is arranged to be connected to a sample water supply pipe 10. After the deairing treatment of the sample water is finished, the outlet valve 24 is opened and the deaired sample water is supplied to the analysis system under the pressure of an inert gas that is introduced from a bypass pipe 66 and a nozzle 68 through a three-way change-over valve 52 and by means of the head of the deaired water sample. In this way the sample water supplied to the analysis system develops dissolved oxygen of 10-30ppb in a Faraday cell, which makes it possible to calibrate the analyser 20 in the range of 13-33ppb.
