Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the temperature difference between a tube plate and a semi- spherical shroud and to thereby reduce the thermal stress caused therebetween, by providing a guide pipe extended from a gas return pipe and a baffle plate extended along the inner surface of the semi-spherical shroud in a gas inerting chamber. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger of this invention comprises a gas inverting chamber formed by a tube plate 13 formed with through-holes 14 to which one ends of many heat exchanger tubes 4 are connected and a semi-spherical shroud 15' connected to the peripheral portion of the tube plate 13, and a gas return pipe 11 communicated to the gas inverting chamber. In the gas inverting chamber, there are further provided a guide pipe 17 extended from the gas return pipe 11 and a baffle plate 16 which is extended along the inner surface of the semi-spherical shroud 15' with a proper spacing from the same. With such an arrangement, secondary gas 6' heated in the heat exchanger tubes 4 is introduced into a space 20 via the through-holes 14 in the tube plate 13, and then carried into the inner pipe or gas return pipe 11 via a semi-spherical passage 21 and the guide pipe 17.
