Abstract
PURPOSE:To weld the work surely along the weld line with a welding torch without receiving the influence of tack welded parts by disabling the movement of the welding torch in its vertical and lateral directions for a constant time when a copying contactor detects the tack welded parts. CONSTITUTION:As an electric motor M3 runs forward, the work is welded automatically linearly with a welding torch 6 while a copying contactor 7 moves in the welding direction along a weld line 12. When the contactor 7 comes into contact with a tack welded part 11, it displaces vertically or laterally, and any of the contact switchs SW1-SW4 in the contactor 7 displaces to, for example, the right, then the SW1 goes on. The relay X2 of a controller 13 is operated by this and its contact (a) is closed, whereby a relay M2C1 and a timer relay T1 are operated to run an electric motor M2 forward, thereby moving the torch 6 and the contactor 7 rightward. Upon timing out of the T1, the contact (a) of a T1 closes, the X1, T2 operate, and the contact (b) of the X1 opens to deenergize the M2C1, thereby stopping the motor M2. Upon timing out of the T2, the contact (b) thereof opens to deenergize the X1, and the contact (b) of the X1 closes, thereby restoring the original state.
