Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable introduction of even a sample, containing a hard-volatile component, to an MS, by a method wherein a section, ranging to a part in the proximity of a jet nozzle of a sample introducing of an interface for liquid chromatograph-mass analyzer (LC-MS), is surrounded with a cooling fluid path. CONSTITUTION:The circumference of an introducing pipe 1 for introducing a sample component, separated by an LC, to an MS is surrounded with a double- structured cooling water path to cause water to flow from an inlet part 9 to a discharge port 10, and this enables water to be cooled while it flows to a part in the proximity of an outlet of a jet nozzle 3. A He gas introducing pipe 2 is connected to a path surrounding said cooling water path. He gas is preheated by a heat block 8 covering a pressure reducing chamber 5 of an interface. The outside of a receiving nozzle of the MS and a nozzle 3 are heated by heaters 6b and 6a with a power supplied via terminals 7b and 7a, respectively. The inside of the chamber 5 is reduced in a pressure by a hydraulic rotaty pump RP. This enables introducing of a hard-volatile material in a sample to the MS without condensation and curing at the inside of the introduction pipe 1.
