Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to replace only those sections of a feed water preheating pipe which have been damaged of fractured due to corrosion by a method wherein in the titled economizer in which boilwer water is used to remove soot adhered to the heat transfer surface of the feed water preheating pipe, the feed water preheating pipe is divided into a plurality of sections. CONSTITUTION:When a boiler 1 is in operation, soot is adhere to the feed water preheating pipe 6 of the economizer 2 due to a combustion gas discharged from the boiler. Further, when water is injected from a water blowout pipe 4 by opening a blow valve in a boiler water blowout pipe 5 at the time of stoppage of the boiler, the water injected from the blower pipe 4 washes the soot adhered to the preheating pipe 6 and is discharged from an exhaust pipe 9 as it neutralize the heat transfer surface of the pipe 6. In this case, the pipe 6 is divided into a plurality of sections, where in the event the pipe 6 should be damaged or fractured due to corrosion, it is possible to repair the pipe 6 by replacing only the damaged section of the pipe and a portion near the inlet of the pipe 6 which is most liable to be damaged.
