Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the surface area of flame front and improve the heating-up power of a gas burner by a method wherein burner nozzles symmetrically arranged with respect to the vertical axis plane viewing from the direction of the burner shaft center line and at the same time directed at right angles to the same direction are provided on the gas burner arranged at the center part in the furnace. CONSTITUTION:A suitable number of pairs of burner nozzles 2, each pair of which are symmetrical with resect to the vertical axis plane viewing from the direction of the burner shaft center line and at the same time have a fixed elevation angle theta such as, for example, 10-20 deg. are arranged with intervals toward the direction of the burner shaft center line at the tip part of the burner main body 1. The basic end part of the burner main body 1 is connected respectively through rotary joints 3 and 4 to a fuel supply pipe 5 and an air supply pipe 6 and as well as a mounting seat 7 and an angle positioner 8 are provided at the tip side of the basic end part. The tip part of the burner main body 1 is inserted in the interior of the furnace by piercing the rotating center part of a furnace wall 9 and the burner nozzles 2 are set at the central part in the furnace through the mounting seat 7 and as well as the directional angle of the burner nozzles 2 is rendered to be properly controllable by means of the angle positioner 8.
