Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A deoxidizing composition, e.g., a combination of an iron powder and a metal halide, is tightly sealed in a permeating package with a moisture permeability of 10W150g/m2.24hr, preferably 20W70g/m2.24hr at 25°C and 75 RH difference to prepare a deoxidization material (whose equilibrium RH is 50W 90%, preferably 60W90%). A specimen such as dried animal or plant specimen or stuffed specimen is tightly sealed together with the above deoxidization material in an impermeable package or in an air-tight vessel to control insect pests of specimens such as museum beetles, cloths moths or spider beetles.
