Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to stably print characters of high quality by maintaining the temperature of ink accurately at a constant value by means of a heat generating body installed in the vicinity of an ink jet head and a heat sensing element installed inside of the head. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet head composed of a cylindrical piezo-electric ceramic 3 and a nozzle connected to the top end thereof, a heat generating body 18 is arranged at the lower portion of, or around a tube 12, a holder 8 and an electrode sleeve 5, and hot air or a cylindrical heat generating resistor is used. A thin tubular heat sensing element 14 is installed inside the head by guide plates 15, 16 so that part of its top end reaches the cylindrical piezo-electric ceramic 3. The heat sensing element 14 detects the temperature of ink liquid flowing into a heating unit from an ink supply hole, and the detection of temperature is also performed by the ink jet head, and there is no fall in termperature between the heating unit and the ink jet head since ink is heated and controlled by the head and its surroundings, so it becomes possible to control the temperature of ink flowing into the heating unit at a high accuracy.
