Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to provide many nozzle labyrinth grooves and fins without elongation of spans between wheels by fitting a ring with grooves on its outer peripheral surface opposite to nozzle labyrinths between wheels of a rotor. CONSTITUTION:Each stage of a steam turbine consists of buckets 2 and nozzles 5 fixed on a casing 4. The buckets 2 are mounted on the periphery of a wheel 6 which is of one-piece construction with the turbine shaft 1. The nozzles 5 are composed of a plural number of nozzle plates 11 fixed between an outer ring 9 and an inner ring 10 of a nozzle diaphram and nozzle labyrinth packings 12 are provided between the inner ring 10 and the turbine shaft 1 to prevent steam leakage. A hollow ring 19 on which a plural number of nozzle labyrinth grooves 20 are formed on its outer peripheral surface is provided independent of the turbine rotor 3 and is fitted snugly into a pair of recess grooves 21 on the turbine shaft 1 with a tongue 23 provided on each side of the hollow ring. This hollow ring 19 constitutes the nozzle labyrinth packing 12 together with a labyrinth ring 13 with fins 14a, 14b.
