Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve production efficiency considerably by placing bar materials each having a flat part, at prescribed intervals, opposite to the respective conductors of a looped induction heating coil having the conductors of prescribed length which are paralleled with each other by leaving prescribed intervals.
CONSTITUTION: The heating conductors C1, C2 of a looped induction heating coil C are of prescribed length, and are provided in such a way that they are paralleled with each other by leaving prescribed intervals. The conductors C1 and C2 are integrated in the bent connection part at one end, and are connected at the other end to lead parts. The parts W1q, W2q to be hardened of bar materials W1, W2 having flat parts of an arc shape in section having a chord are placed in parallel opposite to the coils C1, C2 at prescribed intervals. High frequency current is conducted to the coil C, and the parts W1q, W2q are heated by the magnetic lines of force flowing in the conductors C1, C2. When they are heated to prescribed temp., the conduction of the current is stopped, and cooling fluid is injected to cool the parts W1q, W2q quickly, whereby these parts are hardened.
