Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A polypeptide expressed by the formula (R is H or chain hydro carbon group with or without S; X is carboxyl which may be amidated or esterified).
EXAMPLE: H-Glu-Gly-Gly-Gly-Asn-Arg-Gly-Asp-Pro-Ser-Gly-Val-Cys-OH.
USE: Useful for the breeding, improving the species of yeasts, and further as a reagent for biochemical and molecular biochemical research.
PROCESS: A partial amino acid capable of constituting the polypeptide of the aimed compound expressed by the formula or the peptide is condensed with a compound capable of constituting the rest by the peptide synthesizing means (e.g. azide method or chloride method) to give the aimed polypeptide. The carboxyl group and almino group which take no part in the reaction may be protected or the carboxyl group and amino group which take part in the reaction may be activated.
