Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a priximity switch which has the high stability and detection precision of a circuit, by converting a detection signal into a pulse signal (digital value) when processing the detection signal. CONSTITUTION:An oscillating circuit 11 is used as a reference signal source, and an oscillating circuit 12 uses a detection coil and serves as a detecting oscillating circuit whose frequency varied as an object to be detected approaches. The outputs of the oscillating circuit 11 and 12 are inputted to a digital phase comparating circuit 13 to output a pulse width signal which corresponds to a difference in input frequency, and the output is inputted to a storing circuit (flip-flop circuit) 16 via low-pass filters 14 and 15. The frequency of the oscillating circuit 12 is set lower than that of the oscillating circuit 11 and as the object to be detected approaches, the frequency of the oscillating circuit 12 increases and when it surpasses that of the oscillating circuit 11, the output of the storing circuit 16 is inverted and a load is put in operation by a current amplifying circuit 17.
